WOW! As a PROUD Alumnus of Dalhousie University, what an honour and privilege from Dalhousie University to be invited to lead the opening ceremony, unavailing funding support for Black and Indigenous students in health programs @ the Life Sciences Research Institute – Atrium @ 9:45am. May 16th.
Education is the strongest predictor of social mobility in Canada. Yet systemic discrimination and anti-Black racism have created persistent gaps in academic achievement for Black students, contributing to unequal outcomes in employment, health and belonging.
We need to create enabling support policies to allow Black and Indigenous students to be able to find education as a pathway.
A shout out to the Dalhousie University, for creating such funding programs for practical equity and inclusion for Black and Indigenous students in health programs.
That’s why I can’t close my mouth – because am shouting out!
