Black History Month has a rich history, dating back to 1926 when historian Carter G. Woodson launched Negro History Week. Over the years, it has evolved into a month-long celebration, with themes ranging from “Civilization: A World Achievement” to “Black Health and Wellness”.
This celebration is not limited to the United States and Canada; it is also observed in the United Kingdom, Germany, and other countries. Each nation adds its unique flavor to the celebration, highlighting the diverse experiences and contributions of Black communities worldwide.
